Measuring for a room.

Draw a simple floor plan of the room.

Measure the width and length of the room ensuring you measure into any door ways or bay windows etc. Make a note of the measurements on your plan.

Its always best to give yourself a little extra when measuring (a minimum of 5cm)

Measuring for Hall, Stairs and Landing.

Draw a simple plan of the hall, stairs and landing.

Firstly measure the hall way, measure the width and length ensuring you measure into any doorway, make a note of these measurements.

Measuring the landing, measure from the threshold of the door across the landing and over the nosing of the first step and then the length of landing from its widest points and note these down.

To measure the steps simply measure the width of the step, then count how many steps in total. 

If you have a half landing  (usually a large square step) or winders (usually a triangle shape step) also measure this at its widest points, length and width.

We advise taking pictures to bring in as this can help aid us visually when giving a quote.
